OVERVIEW OF IMCA
What can IMCA do for me?
What does it take to become a member of IMCA?
Who is IMCA?
Who can become a member of IMCA?
IMCA has the edge on moves because of our competitive rates and our in-person attention to detail. We have IMCA members throughout the country and have the ability to honor full-service moves. IMCA’s recruiting appeal to independent truckers is based on renumeration comparable to the van lines. EXAMPLE: Our licensee, HHG Company, brings highly valuable resources to the network including moving vans, licenses, experience, manpower, knowledge, advertising, reputation, and the ability to get the move done. In return they have ability to get backhauls—keeping their road fleet running full and efficient. They obtain labor from other IMCA companies and enjoy all the same benefits of the largest van line network while maintaining their independent status. HOW YOU CAN BENEFIT FROM IMCA MEMBERSHIP Work together to heal our industry:With IMCA hauling companies can access experienced and insured labor from other members. If a carrier’s reputation within their community is well established, their rates only need to be competitive and with IMCA's help they can receive discounts on Yellow Pages ads and referrals can bring in more business.
Of course it takes you, the independent mover, to be involved. With more IMCA members the opportunities grow. Another example is a local mover with a large commercial job needing extra equipment and labor. Membership in IMCA opens up the possibility of available equipment due to leveraged resources of other members. Maintain quality and efficiency: We can work together, share tonnage, use IMCA drivers only on intrastate hauls, and access other IMCA company employees for cost-effective labor. Sharing our knowledge through training literature and DVDs helps lower claims. We will find the most efficient ways to operate and standardize these techniques. We will help members avoid making costly mistakes by relying on professional service providers who already know our industry. We can all save time and improve efficiency by using IMCA standard documentation when applicable. It’s time to start healing our industry from within, keep our commitment to quality, and increase our bottom line. BECOMING A MEMBER
Our network population includes:
A chain is only as strong as the weakest link. The strength of the IMCA program depends on each individual’s integrity, respect for IMCA’s board and members, and the ability to follow the IMCA’s guidelines and principles. How much does IMCA membership cost? Monthly Dues: The monthly cost of membership depends on the member. There will be three different levels of membership:
Affiliate membership: All members will be subject to a 90 probationary period giving time for membership approval and compliance checks. This affiliate membership is free and will give members access to all aspects of IMCA with the following exceptions: Affiliate members will not have access to the job board, nor will they take part in member voting or ownership rights.
Local membership: Is for local companies that can book, post (interstate, intrastate and local) moves, and haul (intrastate and local) shipments or for independent individuals who only wish to book (interstate, intrastate and local) moves in their area or independent truckers who only wish to access available (interstate, intrastate, and local) loads.
STRICT ADHERENCE TO CO-OP POLICIES
The importance of communication will ensure the success of our network plan. All have to follow the IMCA guidelines precisely. Of course, if the right hand knows what the left hand is doing there will be fewer problems. If an IMCA member does not abide by the rules appropriate action, up to and including revocation of their IMCA membership, is possible. The IMCA membership is an asset to your company. Protect it and use it. The IMCA membership will work for you. BACKGROUND CHECK OF PARTICIPATING MEMBERS The Integrity of IMCA relies on those who are IMCA members. To protect IMCA strict background checks will be run on the company and its principals. By adhering to standards of integrity we will collectively protect ourselves from lawsuits and unscrupulous customers. The goal would be for all of us to take tried and true methods to standardize our operations to increase the bottom line. It may involve changes in operation and hard work for you to benefit. The basis of our operational network depends on the ability to successfully book and transport household goods. All parties involved have a part in the success of each opportunity. The commission structure, opportunity to be self-employed, and selling services at fair prices appeals to prospective recruits from many backgrounds.

The IMCA principles of integrity and teamwork are the backbone of our policies and membership. These policies enhance your company’s standing in the community while becoming a more profitable operation. Remember our goal is to deliver continued quality service and increase our bottom line. The ability to work together and network has its pros and cons. The IMCA principles are designed to help coordinate companies and their customers for a common goal. The importance of adherence to CO-OP policies is not negotiable.
We are here to help each other and be a champion for our own companies.
